This isolation allows for some excellent fishing adventures and is world famous for its production of large spotted sea trout. The Texas State record was caught along its southern seashore in 1996, weighing in at 13 lbs. 11 oz.
The Bay is noted for the many submerged rocks (formed by tiny worms) which provide a natural habitat for outstanding game fish.
