Captain's Reports
Spring Time Fishing.
Well spring time is here and the typical trends are already working. February was a good month for my parties. got fair numbers of trout and reds and then capped it off with some bull drum to stretch your muscles. Didn\'t get to do much fishing the first part of March because we were in Houston for a couple of fishing shows. Good to see some old friends and meet some new ones. Did some fishing on my own this past week found trout hitting on gulps and topwaters. Caught a few reds drifting the saucer using a gulp under a cajun thunder and on topwaters early. The 15th and 16th fished with the Platt group, a Father Son Party from Spring Texas. Taking kids out is so much fun for me. I really enjoy teaching them how to become good fishermen. Remember that when you fish with kids you have to keep them involved or they loose interest. I don\'t usually use live shrimp but with kids I will. We caught a good variety of fish including trout, reds, and sheepshead. A lot of them went back because of size limits, but the boys were catching fish and having a good time. Water temps are up in the mid 70s already. Fish will be moving to the sand and grass pot holes. Use darker colored lures in windy off colored water and lighter colored lures when the wind is light and the water is clear. I don\'t think you can go wrong with using a cajun thunder with a shrimp imitation suspended underneath. From now until late june is prime time for hunting those big trout that the Lower Laguna is famous for. So come on down and lets go fishing. TIGHT LINES TO ALL Capt. Bob
