Fishing Report for July 15th thru July 27th

Fishing in the Upper Laguna Madre has been very good this year. The trout population has been "at record levels" according to the biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife and our fishing trips and creel counts have proven that. It's really sad that a group of people wanted to cut the trout limits to fit "their agendas". Maybe these people need to learn something about the Texas speckled trout population and it's cycles before wanting others to fish the way they do.

The warmer waters and lack of rain have moved the fish to deeper waters with cooler temps. and lower salinity levels. We're still using live bait and catching some very good boxes of trout with a bonus redfish and flounder in the mix. Last week produced a 30" trout and a lot of trout in the upper 20"s. It seem that there has been a summer flounder bite this year and there are some very good fish being caught some in the mid 20" lengths. The redfish bite is starting to get better, now with a little rain we should see a great year for redfish.

Hope to see you soon.
Mike
